Common questions

Why is there no setup fee?

Because the upfront fee is what stops most small businesses from ever getting a decent website. We would rather earn a smaller amount every month for years than a large amount once. It also means we only make money if you stay happy, which is the right incentive for both of us.

What happens if I cancel?

You email us and the subscription stops at the end of the current month. There is no cancellation fee and no penalty. The hosted website comes down when billing ends, since hosting is part of what you were paying for. If you own the domain it stays yours and you are free to point it anywhere. If we registered the domain for your use then we can discuss changing ownership for a fee.

Do I own my website?

Our websites are offered as a subscription service. Rather than paying thousands of dollars upfront, you pay a low monthly fee that includes your website, hosting, maintenance, security, and support. If you ever decide to move your website elsewhere, we can transfer the website files to you for a one-time buyout fee. That fee is reduced based on how long you've maintained your subscription. We never hold your website hostage. If you decide to move on, we'll work with you to make the transition as smooth as possible.

How many changes can I request?

Normal small business changes are included: hours, phone numbers, staff, photos, services, prices, a seasonal promotion, a new page. Email the request and it gets handled. Something genuinely large, like a full rebuild or a custom booking system, gets quoted separately so you are never surprised by a bill.

How long until my website is live?

The preview is usually ready within a few business days of our first conversation. Once you approve it, going live takes hours if you are on the managed plan. If you own the domain, DNS changes can take up to a day to spread across the internet, which is out of anyone's control.

I already have a website. Can you take it over?

Yes, and this is the most common situation. We rebuild it modern and mobile-first, keep the content that is working, and cut over when you are satisfied with the preview. Your current site stays up the entire time, so there is no window where customers hit a dead link.

Is this WordPress?

No. Your site is built as fast static pages with no database and no plugin stack, which is why it loads quickly and has almost nothing to break or get hacked. You never log into an admin panel or install an update, because that is our job, not yours.
